At ASCEND we know that if we are going to make a difference in the world, we need all the help we can get. We pride ourselves on being an organization that accomplishes its mission using volunteers, expedition participants, interns and permanent staff who work together to help families and communities in need. The mission of ASCEND Alliance is only made possible through the incredible support from our volunteers and donors. Through our various programs, there are several opportunities in which to get involved. You, too, can empower those in need to save their children and ASCEND out of poverty.

Humanitarian Expeditions

The life most changed will be your own. Working side-by-side, and hand-in-hand with the members of impoverished communities, you will not only gain an appreciation and respect for these remarkable people, but friendships and experiences that will enhance your life forever. There is nothing more powerful than the human connection to bridge cultures, create understanding and empathy and empower families and communities. Individuals from every walk of life working as one to accomplish a shared goal creates a continued energy and motivation for change that spans time and distance.

Internships

There are different kinds of internships available through ASCEND Alliance. Internship opportunities include international and local assignments. From field work to administrative projects, ASCEND offers a position for everyone. Interns are a valuable resource to ASCEND Alliance, and in turn gain significant and precious experience into the world of international humanitarian aid, the management of non-profits and sense of self rarely offered anywhere else.

Local Volunteers

Change begins within each one of us. The wonderful progress that is made in the communities in which we serve, begins here at home. Our local volunteers are essential to the success and mission of our organization, and there are numerous ways in which to be involved with ASCEND Alliance right here. From fund raising, to event planning to advocacy, we would not experience the strides we do internationally if it were not for the support from right here in our own community.

Donate

Financial contributions are the key to success of any non-profit. However, due to our financial and 5-year models, the funds that we receive from our generous donors are magnified. Every dollar ASCEND receives is multiplied through matching contributions from local businesses, foreign governments, and community recipients. ASCEND ensures that the community recipients have committed to the project, and that they will follow through to sustain the projects done. Over 90% of its donations directly distributed to programs. This makes it possible for management and fundraising costs to be kept to a minimum.
